Greece is one of those European countries which have some breathtaking islands. These islands with white sandy beaches and Mediterranean weather are just like a treat for the Europeans. Zante is one of those islands which suddenly wakes up in the summer as tourists from everywhere try to reach there to spend their holidays.

Zante, also known as Zakynthos, is the third largest in the Ionian Islands. The mild climate with lot of rainfall makes it a perfect place for agriculture. This island is famous for producing Grapes, Citrus fruit and Olive oil. The combination of uneven mountains, lush plains and lovely coastal areas are more than enough to make this place a hot tourist’s destination.

I have heard a lot about this Greek island and that is why I planned to pay a visit there in the last Christmas break. Soon I have been informed that the ideal period for an eventful Zante tour is in between May to October. However, the tourist season is at its peak from late June till the end of August. Obviously the hotels enjoy maximum occupancy ratio and so as the flights to this Greek island.

The only bad thing about this peak season is that due to the shortage of accommodation (more info on Best Hotels in Zante), the hotel’s room rents reaches at the sky. Same thing occurred with the air fares and that is why you need to book your seat in advance otherwise sufficient malady will be waiting for you. Normally a flight to Zante from London takes 3 hours and 15 minutes to cover the distance. This time reaches further up to 3 and a half hours if you go to North and fly from a city like Manchester. I have been told that there are bargain charter flights to Zante which are operated from Athens.
